Watercolour Face and Body Paint Set

One afternoon a child is a butterfly, the next a tiger with whiskers drawn in a hurry. This watercolour paint set turns a dressing-up box into a small studio, with colour that slips onto skin and blends without turning muddy.

Three brushes cover fine lines, broad fills and quick detail. Glycerin in the paint keeps it from drying and clumping mid-stroke, so a wobbly whisker can be smoothed and a second colour laid over the first. Colour holds through a party or a school play, then lifts away with soap and water and leaves no pigment behind.

Best kept for face painters who have a grown-up nearby, since brushes and stickers both ask for a steady hand. Halloween, birthdays, costume making and rainy Saturdays all find a use for it.

The shades sit in a compartmented box that keeps colours apart and travels in a bag. Alongside the paints and brushes, a sheet of tattoo stickers presses onto cheeks, arms and hands with a light touch. The set weighs 265g.
