There is a particular pleasure in a strand of small, near-round pearls: the gentle irregularity from one bead to the next, the quiet weight of them in the palm. Each pearl is drilled through so it can be threaded, knotted or wire-wrapped into a necklace, a pair of drops or a bracelet built entirely to your taste.
At 3-3.5mm they read as delicate rather than dainty, sitting close to the skin on a fine chain or clustered for a little more presence. The natural surface gives each bead its own small variation in tone and shape, so a finished piece looks collected rather than uniform.
