Deep Moisture Restorative Hair Mask

Wet hair meets a thick, cushioned cream and the lengths take it in. Dry, knotty ends feel softer to the touch and slip through the comb with less tugging, from the mid-lengths down.

The formula lists cetyl stearol, cetroxonium chloride and hexadiol, and it asks for ten minutes: smooth it from root to tip, wait, then rinse. Hair is left pliable and glossy rather than weighed down, and the softness holds after towel-drying and styling.

Reach for it after a week of heat tools, colour or chlorinated water, or whenever ends feel rough and tangle at the brush. Fine hair takes a small amount pressed through the ends; thicker, coarser hair can carry a fuller application along the lengths.
