Details

A quiet afternoon of making begins with a bowl of cream-colored flakes. They carry a light milky scent and melt quickly in the microwave, so small batches come together without fuss.

Once melted, the wax pours at 65 C to 70 C. The flakes are suited to lip balm bases and candle projects, with a maximum fragrance load of 10 percent and a recommended 3 to 8 percent.

For anyone learning to make lip balms or testing candle colors, the 2 kg carton gives room to practice and refine. Some flakes may arrive broken in transit; they melt the same way.

Format: Cream-colored flakes with a light milky scent.

How to use

Melt the flakes in the microwave in short bursts, stirring until fully liquid. Stir in fragrance or color within the stated maximum and blend thoroughly. Pour into prepared lip balm tubes or candle molds and leave to set undisturbed.
